We see viral videos everywhere. On Tv through the shows and even the news. They fill our feeds on social media. They are shown to us in our places of work. People love to share them and show them to more and more people. They get to a point where some have been seen billions of time.

Many often leave a lasting impact on our culture and create new phrases. Like the catch me outside girl. Even often inspiring silly dances that you seem to encounter everywhere you go like the one from Gangnam Style.

What’s truly impressive is the ability these videos have to explode in viewership overnight. Often because just one person shared the video first. Then another shared it and another and another. Before long virtually the whole world has seen it.

My question is can Christians cause Jesus to go viral in a similar fashion? Do we have the ability to flood the internet and our world with the truth of the Gospel? Is it possible to get a single video or post that gracefully shares the gospel to be seen billions of times? By people from all walks of life? In every part of the world?

To be clear I do not mean just some artist rendition, a post that says “Share if you love Jesus keep scrolling if you serve the devil” or even a sermon clip of a new age preacher that tells you everything will be perfect in your life if you just accept Jesus into your heart.

I am talking about something that exemplifies who Jesus is, what he stood for, and talks of the truth of the Bible. Something that could be shared that shows people the beauty of the Gospel. In a loving and impactful way.

If we could share something like that it could change the world. It could reshape our whole existence and save so many from the perils of Hell. But could we do it?

Are Christian willing to share the Gospel like they are willing to share a video of a cat playing the piano? Sadly I’m not sure we are. Yet I still feel as though we should try.

Recently I heard that if you to win just one person to Christ each year. Then if that person could win one other person for Christ each year and so on. It would only take 32 years to win the whole world for Jesus Christ!

Now if you factor in the ability we now have with the internet it should take far less time to win the world. Because we all know different people. You reach extends mine and the reach of those you reach extends yours. A simple share could start a fire for God that we have never seen before.

All this being said one thing is still missing. The content for us to make viral. Who will be the one to create this I do not know. It may be us at Everyday Apostolic or it may be someone reading this or even someone who never sees these words.

All I know is that I feel God leading me to write this and to call others to share the Gospel in all forms every chance they have. That is what God has called us all to do. But we must accept the call and act it out.

So when you see faith-based content that you feel holds true to the scripture, share it. Show it to others in your workplace. Be sure your friends have seen it. Just as people do every day with silly videos or memes. How much more valuable is it to share the Gospel of Jesus than something that will be forgotten in a few days? And when you share faith-based content, pray over it. Ask God to use your share to touch the lost.

It is rare that I write an article that does not include scripture. In fact, I do not like the idea of putting this on the website without it having scripture in it. So below you will find scripture that shows that you are called to share the Gospel. Hopefully, it will help you to see the importance of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through al means. Including social media and the internet.

Psalms 96:3

3 Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does.

Psalms 105:1

105 O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Proverbs 11:30

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Isaiah 12:4

4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

Matthew 5:15-16

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 28:19

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Luke 24:47

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Mark 16:15

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Acts 1:8

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 13:47

47 For the Lord gave us this command when he said, ‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’”

I pray that you will see how important it is that you share the truth you have received. We are not meant to only receive, but to give freely that which we have received. It truly can be as simple as sharing a faith-based post, image, scripture, or video. You may be the one who starts the viral avalanche.

Hopefully, this article has at least caused you to think about sharing the Gospel. I truly feel as though God was leading me to write this and draw attention to the need to share the Gospel in a viral way. Through this, we have the ability to reach our world in a way that our forefathers could not even dream of.

Before you go, be sure to visit the pray wall and pray over the needs of others. If you have a need please add it to the wall so we can pray for you as well. We hope you have a wonderful day, God Bless!
