I recently received an email from a brother in the faith requesting more information of the subject of Baptism in the name of Jesus. Which caused me to realize that many people are in need of these very same resources. This article is for those who hold to Jesus name Baptism as well as those who don’t. This subject is not ancillary but plays a major role in salvation. So it is worthy of deep study to ensure it is lived out correctly. Bellow you will find links to many great resources on this subject. Please take the time to immerse yourself in this subject and pray that God will reveal His truth to you.

If you have ever questioned this truth or even don’t hold to it then I pray you will take the time to explore some of these resources. See what we believe Gods word to say and then search it out for yourself. Don’t allow church tradition, options, or even personal belief to shape your view of God. Instead simply allow God to speak to you through prayer and study.

I don’t say you should simply place all your trust in these resources but allow them to be your guide through Gods word. Exposing you to scriptures that you may have missed or not seen in the proper context. Whatever you do don’t allow yourself to write off this subject believing it doesn’t mater. The Bible says their is only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. Don’t end up in the wrong but search the scriptures, find the truth, and live what is right. Just as we see the righteous examples of old doing.

Ephesians 4:4–6 (ESV)

4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Acts 17:10–12 (ESV)

10 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. 11 Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. 12 Many of them therefore believed, with not a few Greek women of high standing as well as men.

Acts 19:1–7 (ESV)

1 And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. 2 And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.” 4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying. 7 There were about twelve men in all.

Dr. Bernards Written Resource On Baptism In The Name Of Jesus

If you really want to dive deep into the trench of study then getting a book is always you best bet. In my option their is no better resource on Baptism in Jesus name then Dr. David K. Bernards book “In The Name of Jesus”  dedicated to this very subject. Dr. Bernard is the General Superintendent of The United Pentecostal Church International. As well as a leading scholar in Apostolic doctrine. His resources are some of the best you will find on Oneness, the Holy Spirit, Jesus Name Baptism. If you want all your questions to be answered in one place then this is the resource you need to get.

Keep Studying This Important Subject

If you already hold to this doctrinal truth don’t write this grouping of resources off. Believing that you know all their is to know or that you will be fine because you have already headed the call of scripture. The truth is you need these resources just as much as those who believe Baptisms are to be done reciting the titles listed in Matthew 28:19. Understand that even an expert in a subject must continually study to insure they do not lose the knowledge they have gained.

So even if we have a complete understanding and unwavering belief in Jesus name Baptism we still need resources and to spend time studying this crucial subject. So we will always be ready to stand strong against others who attempt to challenge our belief. As well as the fact that we can not be effective in sharing the truth of scripture with out being intimately familiar with it. Even the Apostles spoke of repeating themselves in order to ensure that those they taught never forgot their message. We should take it upon ourselves to constantly sharpen our knowledge of every subject to ensure it never becomes dull or ineffective.

Philippians 3:1 (ESV)

1 Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is no trouble to me and is safe for you.

2 Peter 1:12–15 (ESV)

12 Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have. 13 I think it right, as long as I am in this body, to stir you up by way of reminder, 14 since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 15 And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.

Hopefully these resources are a blessing to you. Allowing you to have a deeper understanding of what you already believe to be true. Or maybe they have opened you up to the truth you have been missing for some time. Do you have a trusted resource on this subject that we missed? Then please let us know in the comments and we will see about adding it to the list.

If after spending time going through some of these resources you still strongly disagree with us feel free to let us know in the comments. But please do so in a kind and respectful way just as we will do in our response to you. Even in opposition the Bible call us to act in kindness and humility. So let us keep things cordial and loving even in our disagreements just as God desires. And please take the time to research our side before laying out why you believe we are wrong. I assure you we have not only studied Baptism in Jesus name as instructed in Acts 2:38 but also Baptism reciting Matthew 28:19 before forming our resources.

2 Timothy 2:25 (ESV)
