Matthew 26:53-54 (ESV)
53 Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?”
What purpose is there in your struggle? Has that purpose been accomplished? Of course, God has the ability to take away any problem that may arise in your life. In fact, we are instructed throughout scripture to pray for our problems to be taken away. But God has all knowledge and knows when the right time is. Or if it is better for the problem to persist over a lifetime.
God does not cause bad things to happen in our life. Nor does He want bad things to happen to His people. However, since He knows all He has the ability to see what good can come from that which seems bad to us. We have to use the small knowledge we have to see the greater purpose God has in our circumstance.
For instance, Jesus said the disciples would be arrested and brought before rulers for His name. But He said do not take it as bad but use the opportunity to preach to those leaders. No one wants to be arrested, especially not in those days. However, God knew that it may be the only opportunity those in the courts would have to hear the gospel of Jesus.
Matthew 10:18 (ESV)
18 and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles.
So do not be discouraged if your prayer is not answered in the way you expected. Instead, choose to find the purpose in it. God’s got a plan and He needs you to be willing to complete your part. So stay strong fight the good fight and answer the call that God has placed in your life. It may not always be in a way you expected but it will always serve the greater good.
