We are living in a day when many people chose to not share their faith because they don’t want to offend anyone. Some are even afraid to talk about their faith for fear of what others may think about them. These people fail to realize the consequences that wait for those who are unwilling to acknowledge the Lord before others.
Matthew 10:32–33 (ESV)
32 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
You cannot be a Christian and be ashamed of your faith. Not willing to tell anyone and everyone about the God who saved you. The God that forever changed your life, forgave your sins and has granted you eternal life. There is no reason that every Christian should not acknowledge our mighty Lord before everyone they know.
Christians must be like the apostle Paul who was not ashamed of the Gospel message. He did not worry about the opinions of others or what they thought about him. His only concern was to please God and share the message of Christ with everyone he met. With the added hope that doing so would lead them down the same path of salvation, he had already taken.
Romans 1:16 (ESV)
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek
1 Thessalonians 2:4 (ESV)
4 but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts.
Jesus made His point very clear. If you are not willing to acknowledge Him before men. He will not acknowledge you before His Heavenly Father on the day of Judgment. Meaning you will not receive the gift of eternal life in Heaven. So don’t be afraid to acknowledge God before mere men who can only affect you in this life. But fear the God who is able to affect your eternity.
Matthew 10:28 (ESV)
28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
If you truly love Jesus you are not going to hide Him away. No, you will take every opportunity to introduce Him to everyone you know so that they too can come to love and place their faith in Him.
It’s time that every Christian realizes that there are consequences to not acknowledging God before others and being ashamed of the Gospel. Don’t miss out on Heaven because you were worried about what others would do or think. Start doing your duty as a believer and declare God’s greatness to everyone!
Psalm 96:3 (ESV)
3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous works among all the peoples!
