It seems that almost everyone knows that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross was done in order to save people. Yet, we see that many Christians and far more unbelievers do not truly understand that Jesus died for all people, everyone, the whole world!
Not just those who haven’t committed a certain group of sins. Or those whose parents were Christians before them. The Bible is extremely clear on the fact that salvation is available to all people through Jesus. That was the whole purpose of His coming to Earth.
John 3:16 (ESV)
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
1 Timothy 2:5-6 (ESV)
5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
While those scriptures make it clear that Jesus came so all people could be saved. They are not alone in proclaiming the fact that God wants all people to be saved. Paul proclaims that exact message to Timothy in his first letter.
1 Timothy 2:3-4 (ESV)
3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
It is that simple God wants all people to be saved. No one is left out for any reason. In Peter’s second letter he explains to his readers that God is waiting to return so that more and more people will have the opportunity to receive salvation.
2 Peter 3:9 (ESV)
9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Even with all those verses people still believe that they or even others cannot be saved. Because they have lived a lifestyle centered around a certain sin. And the Bible is clear those who live in sin will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (ESV)
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
But here’s the thing in the very next verse Paul explains that many Christians once lived those exact lifestyles listed above. Yet they turned away from their sinful desires and turned to God.
1 Corinthians 6:11 (ESV)
11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
We have all sinned in one way or another which makes us all guiltily and worthy of the same punishment. It is important that we all realize that one sin is no worse than any other sin in God’s eyes.
Romans 3:23 (ESV)
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
The Bible is clear on sin as well and we know that God will forgive all of our sins. He will cleanse us from any and all unrighteous from our life.
1 John 1:9 (ESV)
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
These scriptures and so many more like them prove that salvation is not reserved for a select group of people. But that God has made it for all people to be forgiven. For everyone to receive salvation. No matter the sin or past all truly can be forgiven. And the unbeliever and the believer must understand this fact.
For The Lost Person
We hope that you see that God has not just made a way for some to be saved. As many believe, but that God has made away for the whole world to be saved and the includes you! No matter what you may have done in your past. Or how many sins you have committed or even how bad you may think they are. God has made it possible for you to receive salvation.
Would you like to receive the salvation that God is offering you? If so then follow the plan of salvation laid out by the Apostle Peter on the day of Pentecost.
Acts 2:38 (ESV)
38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Led by the faith you now have repented of your sins. Which means to ask for forgiveness for and turn away from your sins. Then be baptized in the wonderful name of Jesus for the remission of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost which is the spirit of God living inside you. Guiding you and helping you overcome temptation and sin.

For The Believer
While this understanding is a matter of life and death for those who are lost. It is also extremely important that we as Christians understand that all people can be saved. It is our job to spread the Gospel to all people. And that just what we need to do.
We can not hold back from sharing with others simply because they are partaking in a certain sin at the time we meet them. God is willing to forgive them of whatever sin it is. We just need to simply, patiently and lovingly share the Gospel with everyone we can. God will handle the rest.
