Too often Christians get discouraged when they are unable to convert someone. We keep trying until finally they just tell us to stop and leave them alone. That they are not interested in hearing any more about the Gospel. So we take their advice and just give up and we allow it to affect our future evangelism efforts. But I personally believe that we should never give up but just shift gears sometimes. Stepping back from trying to win them directly and come in from a new angle. Where we teach them about the coming rapture. Telling them what it will be like in the days right before and the years to follow.
Why teach someone who you do not believe will make it in the rapture about it? Because they will be the very ones who live in the aftermath described in the Bible. And even though God has already taken those who believed up to Heaven. That does not mean that others cannot still come to faith in Him. Receiving the gift of eternal salvation. The act on the cross and blood of Christ will still have the power to save even when the rest of the church is gone.
Ephesians 1:7 (ESV)
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
1 Peter 2:24 (ESV)
24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.
So we must teach and even just plant seeds in the minds of those we cannot win. Telling them what the Bible says will take place in the end times. Because when they see those things happening which we told them the Bible protected it will open up their eyes to the truth. And with any hope, they will turn to God before it is too late. Our best place to start is by speaking of the rapture itself. Mentioning time and time again the fact that we and millions of others will all disappear at the same time. Leaving not a trace just as the Bible says.
Matthew 24:40–42 (ESV)
40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
That knowledge alone should be enough to awaken those left behind. Especially if you consider that the one who told them this would happen is gone. But that is not the only information we have to rely on. The Bible tells of so much more that will happen after the rapture. That we can use to teach those we couldn’t win at first.
Whether it is the concept of the mark of the beast, in whatever form it may take. A mark that will be the only way in which people will be able to buy or sell. The Witnesses who come to speak of God. And will perform many great miracles before the world. Or any other Biblical prophecy surrounding the last days. By teaching others about this we are giving them that one final chance to be saved. Working even after we are gone to continue to grow the kingdom.
Revelation 13:16–17 (ESV)
16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.
Revelation 11:3–6 (ESV)
3 And I will grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.”
4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. 5 And if anyone would harm them, fire pours from their mouth and consumes their foes. If anyone would harm them, this is how he is doomed to be killed. 6 They have the power to shut the sky, that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying, and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague, as often as they desire.
Of course, we have no way of knowing when the rapture will happen. Or if those we teach about the end times will actually ever see them. But the rapture could also come any second and the end times will be ushered in right after it. Better to be safe than sorry and teach those I couldn’t save today what to expect when I am gone.
Matthew 24:36 (ESV)
36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
So do not be discouraged when you are unable to lead someone to Christ. Change your methods and be sure they know what signs will follow the rapture. We have knowledge that they do not and won’t unless we are the ones to teach them. So remember even though you do not see someone saved today. That does not mean what you said won’t lead to their salvation later.
