Take your Bible to school day is this Thursday (October 3rd, 2019). Students all across the country will be expressing their religious freedom by taking their physical Bibles with them to school. Emphasis on the physical copy and not just a smartphone app. This is a great initiative to help students live out their faith. One thing is missing though. Where are the adults?
Christians are asking our youth to express their faith at school this upcoming Thursday and we applaud every student who carries their Bible with them that day. But how can we feel good about asking children to do this when many Christian adults would not be willing to do the same? Shouldn’t every Christian bind together with these students and carry their Bible with them Thursday everywhere they have to go? From the workplace to the grocery store we should be willing to step out in faith just as they will be.
If you are reading this and thinking there is no way you would be willing to do that. You need to ask yourself if you are ashamed of your faith. If you are not willing to be seen with the book that brought you to salvation then you definitely are. If you want to be a Christian you can not be ashamed of your faith. Christians need to have the same mindset that the Apostle Paul did.
Romans 1:16
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
You must also realize we are expected to acknowledge Jesus before everyone. Even in your place of employment. This can be done by the simplest action like choosing to take your Bible everywhere. The Bible makes it clear that if we deny Jesus in the presence of others He will deny us.
Matthew 10:32-33
32 So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, 33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
Make the decision to carry your physical Bible with you on the 3rd. Don’t continue to hide your faith in public. Instead, choose to declare your faith in the Lord to the world. Through even the simplest of actions.
In fact, we do not believe you should just carry a Bible on Thursday and sit it back down the next day. You should have a copy of The Word with you for two reasons. So you can live in God’s word without the distractions that come with Bible apps. While also always being prepared to share your faith whenever someone asks about it. Just as Peter taught we should do.
1 Peter 3:15
15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
Don’t expect the youth of America to do something that you yourself would not be willing to do. Step our in faith and show God and the world that you are not ashamed of the Gospel. Be the example the young people in your life need to see and take up your Bible. This is the example they need to see. Not the watch someone who does not practice what they preach. Live unashamed so they will do the same!
So will you join us and take your Bible with you this Thursday? If so come back and let us know how it went in the comments. Or send us an email at [email protected]. We would love to hear about your experience.
If you see the need for people to start taking their Bible with them. Then please share this post with others. So that we can inspire more and more people to take up their Bibles and go out into the world! Thank you so much for your support and God Bless!

Being that I share my faith daily. I never would be ashamed of the word of God/Jesus. I just find scriptures faster with my phone. I don’t go anywhere without it. I also carry a bible with me in my car. Everyone around me knows I’m working on my relationship with God daily. I think this outward show, is just that a show. Living it out requires more than a show.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your concern and insight into this issue. Please understand that this article is not meant to insinuate that those who do not carry a Bible with them daily are ashamed of the Gospel. Simply it was meant to inspire Christian adults who do not currently express their faith daily. To bind with the youth of America and carry their Bibles with them this Thursday. While also reminding parents to lead be example and be willing to do the same thing many are asking their children to do. I applaud you for being able to share your faith with all those around you and for not allowing the multitude of distractions that come with smartphones to take you away from spending time in God’s word. As far as carrying a Bible with you everywhere being a show. I must say that if it is a show that allows me to personally spend more time in the word. While also causing complete strangers to ask me about my faith and open up doors for the gospel that may not have been opened other wise. Well I will continue to perform this show everyday of my life. I hope this has helped to clear up any confusion and I hope to hear back from you. God Bless!
I couldn’t agree more. I try to take my Bible everywhere I go. Except for when doing so could damage it. As for the act of carrying your Bible for others to see being a show, yes. But a show of faith without shame. Christians are supposed to never be ashamed of their faith, God, or Jesus. Carrying your Bible (physical book) is about the easiest way to show your faith and love for God and Jesus. Besides, wearing a cross has become fashionable. So even the unsaved masses wear them. I’m afraid to say, but the Cross, as a symbol of faith, has been corrupted. So I say carrying the Bible is essential for Christians to demonstrate faith.
God bless you, in Jesus holy name, Amen.
