It has been a while since we have had an article come up featuring a worship video. Honestly, we have not seen many new apostolic praises and worship videos come out. With NAYC now behind us, youtube is filled with new apostolic worship videos. Of those, I have had the pleasure to watch so far “Wait On The Lord” by James Wilson has to be my favorite.
Wait On The Lord is one of those songs that has the ability to really speak to every Christian. To be honest, this song has far exceeded my expectations and this writer could not be happier.
Shortly after NAYC, my church performed this song. And you really would have thought for a second that you were in the dome praising with 37,000 other believers. Praise and worship erupted from the sanctuary. After witnessing what this song was able to do in my home church I cannot imagine the impact it is having all across the country!
Nothing To Big or Small for God
It is really two parts of this song that stick out too me. The soft intro hits me because I have had so many people tell me that their problems seem too big for God to handle. Then on the flip side, I have people tell me that they do not pray because their problems seem too small to bother God with.
Wait On The Lord starts by addressing this issue and really brings a proper understanding to every listener. The song says:
There’s not a mountain too tall
There’s not a problem too small
That Jesus can’t resolve
In time He’ll get involved
Our God He cares about us
That short fragment of the song carries so much truth. That so many struggling Christians need to hear. God can reach into any situation no matter how big or small it may seem. Not only that but God truly does care about each and every one of us. If we simply wait on the Lord we will see Him working in our lives.
Don’t Turn Back!
Then comes the big drop in the song. That seems to send everyone who hears it into an even more intense level of worship by saying:
I’m gonna wait on You Jesus
I’m not turning back now
I’ve already made up my mind
The idea of turning back is something that has been apart of the followers of God since the beginning of faith. After Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt they reached a point where they wanted to turn back. They thought the problems they faced could be elevated by going back to the old ways.
Numbers 14:4 (ESV)
4 And they said to one another, “Let us choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”
At times when you look back at your old way of life, it may look better than where you are now. But sadly you often overlook all the struggle hidden in your past. When you feel the temptation to turn back to your old ways make the declaration found in this song.
Tell Jesus you will wait on Him. That you are not turning back now. Make up your mind and continue to walk towards God leaving your past in the past. You will be amazed to feel how simply crying out those lines will make you feel.
It is a declaration to the enemy that he won’t win. It is a declaration to God that you truly trust in Him. And finally, it is a declaration to yourself! So tell the world now that you have made up your mind in this instant!
It’s All Great
Those are just a few parts of the song that stick out to me. But really I could sit here and write about every line of this song. The lyrics are real. They exude truth. Wait On The Lord is one of those songs that you can listen to 100 times in a row and gain something new every time.
I have actually have been listening to this song on repeat as I write and really want to include more. But you just need to hear this song yourself and give all the praise the Lord as if you were at NAYC with them.
Of course, there is an official recording of this song. But personally, I prefer to listen to praise music that was performed in a real atmosphere of praise. It gives you a true sense of what the song can do when God takes over. Which is exactly why we are sharing this version of the song from NAYC 2019.
There is no telling how many lives were forever changed as the singers performed that night. And there is no telling how many more people will be touched by this performance as it lives on forever online.
Please share this song with someone else and brighten their day. Expose them to the truth found in the lyrics of this song. This video may be just what they need to stay on the right path and not turn back to a life lost in the world! God Bless!

Psalm 150 (KJV)
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.
