God woke me up this morning and gave me this word. He asked me why I am Apostolic. At first, I was like what if someone asks me this? How do I respond? How do I explain why I believe what I believe. I asked God to give me the words to write down and it all just flowed out.

Why am I Apostolic?

I am Apostolic because I am not ashamed of the One God message. The Bible clearly states that there is only One God and that Jesus Christ is God and the Heavenly Father. Jesus is fully God and fully man.

Isaiah 9:6

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting FATHER, The Prince of Peace.”

1 Timothy 3:16

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh (took on flesh and blood), justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”

John 14:9

“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father…”

Ephesians 4:5-6

“One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. One God and Father of all, Who is above all, and through all and in you all.”

Acts 20:28

“Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.”

Where does a Spirit get blood from? God became a man of flesh and blood to die on a cross for our sins and save us from this world!

I am Apostolic because I am not ashamed of Jesus Name baptism.

The Bible clearly states in Acts 2:38 to be baptized in Jesus Name,” Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you **in the name** of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” People might ask, “What about Matthew 28:19?”

The keywords to look at in that verse is IN THE NAME. What is that name? What name must we be baptized under in order to be saved? Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are just titles, not names. I am a mother, daughter, and granddaughter but I am not three different people. The Bible says that Jesus is the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (the Comforter) – “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” John 14:18. That name is Jesus. No one in the New Testament was baptized in the titles. We must be baptized in Jesus Name. Read Acts 4:12, Acts 8:12, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5, Acts 22:16.

I am Apostolic because I am not ashamed of my uncut hair.

1 Corinthians 11:15 says that a woman’s long hair is her glory. The Greek word for long means uncut. The Bible states that our long hair has power and is our protection. The Bible also states that our long hair is our submission to our husbands and is for the glory of God.

We use hair to express what we are so to say. Rockers and goths all have signature hairstyles to show what they believe in. So in a way, our hair is helping us to stand out and show people that we believe in and worship God. Our hair separates us from the world and sets us apart for God. I know I have some friends that are not able to grow out their hair but wanted to remind you that as long as you make the decision to not cut it, it is long in God’s eyes. That’s all that matters!

I am Apostolic because I am not ashamed of my modest dress.

The Bible says for women to adorn themselves in modest apparel – 1 Timothy 2:9. Some people might think I am bound by only wearing skirts and dresses but that is not the case at all and very far from the truth. I wear modest clothing because it shows holiness, godliness, and covers up what only my husband should see. I don’t want to show off my body for all to see. God made clothing out of sheep’s wool to cover up Adam and Eve’s nakedness. God cares about how we dress. It’s not just some rule I follow for no reason. God demands modesty as I’ve stated in 1 Timothy 2:9 and gender differentiation through clothing. Deuteronomy 22:5 MSG.

I have never been to a church like an Apostolic church.

I have been to SO many churches and never have I ever felt the Spirit so strongly as I have in an Apostolic church. Never have I ever seen praise and worship as I’ve seen at an Apostolic church. Never have I ever seen SO many people receive the Holy Ghost and be TRULY changed from their old ways as I have in an Apostolic Church. I have witnessed many people be baptized in Jesus Name and receive the Holy Ghost with speaking in other tongues. There’s just something about an Apostolic Church! There’s just something about the Name of Jesus! I’ve never been the same since I’ve been baptized in Jesus Name and received the Holy Ghost. I am not ashamed and I am proud to be Apostolic!
