This sermon clip from the message “Glow” preached by Cortt Chavis. After watching this video I was inspired to stop listening to worldly music. This message was preached during a youth rally at Capital Community Church of Canada. The sermon may be directed towards youth, but everyone can learn from it.
Far to many people in our churches are exposing themselves to an ideology they would say they don’t agree with. They are doing this by listening to worldly music that contains lyrics that often go against Biblical teaching.
If you can say that listening to worldly music is not a sin. That is very true, but as Cortt explains in the video what you hear shapes you. In 1 Corinthians 10:23 Paul even tells us that just because we can do something does not mean it is good for us.
By letting go of worldly music and turning instead to christian music I have grown closer to God than ever before. I ask that you would take one full week and only listen to christian music. See if it does not make an impact on your life. I promise you won’t miss worldly music as much as you think. If you decide to take this challenge please let us know in the comment section!
